Lumen is Latin for light. We make one thing, carefully: a grip sock that feels quiet on the foot and steady on the carriage, so your attention stays on the work.

Nothing held back.
Toeless socks have their place. Many of us would rather keep our toes warm, covered and out of the conversation. Lumen Barre is built for that, with no trade-off on grip.

Studios run cool, especially in a Canadian January. A closed toe keeps your whole foot warm so you settle in sooner.

Grip where your toes press.
Silicone is designed to wrap past the toe edge, so you have grip on the footbar and in relevé. The toe stays closed.

An ankle line that stays put.
The cuff sits above the ankle bone, with a heel tab designed to stop the sock slipping down mid-class.

No toe-by-toe fitting. Choose S, M or L by foot length and you're done.

Are they closed-toe or toeless?
Closed-toe, always. Your toes stay covered and warm, and the silicone grip still reaches under the toes for hold on the footbar and in relevé.
When do they launch?
We're finishing samples now. We haven't set a launch date and won't promise one until we're sure. The waitlist hears first.
How much will they cost?
Pricing isn't final. Founding 150 members will see founding pricing before anyone else, and nothing is charged until you choose to reserve.
How do I choose my size?
Measure your foot from heel to longest toe in cm. S 21.5–23.5 cm, M 23.5–25.5 cm, L 25.5–27.5 cm. These are working ranges, confirmed after fit testing.
How long will the grip last?
The grip is being wash-tested now. Our design target is a grip that stays intact through 30 home washes when cared for properly. We'll publish what we find.
What's the difference between the waitlist and the Founding 150?
The waitlist is free and gets you first notice. The Founding 150 is the planned pre-sale: the first 150 people to reserve real pairs from the first run, with founding perks.
Do you ship across Canada?
That's the plan. Shipping details will be confirmed before launch.
Are the labels bilingual?
Yes, English and French.
